    Default new toy

Went ahead and bought a mold to make me some small stinger jigs. They work. Nice little small 12 cavity mold. Jig is 2-1/2" long. Just right for a barbless 1/32 oz jig. Make a bunch on Friday and took them for a trail run across the street from my favorite dock. Caught fish on the 3 colors I made. Did best on pearl, then chartruese, last blue but I had worked them over pretty good by then. All fish caught vertical jigging around 8' deep over 12 fow. No monsters most 8-9" several up to 11".Fun catching them on something you made. I double dipped a few more jigs today to add some bulk to the body for when I use a 1/16 oz jig. Can't wait to try them on some docks and brush at Buggs. Fun times. Thanks GeneC for getting me hooked.

All came from the same mold. I got all my stuff from Jacobs mold.

You double dip them by just dipping them in a cup of melted plastic. I use tweezers, hold the jigs by the tail and just dip them in the plastic. This is an easy way to add a different color as well. When I'm done dipping I just drop them nose first in some water.

Don I'll have plenty with me in October but Gene has nothing to worry about from me. Vic we really do need to give some a try some when tightliing.

Already thinking I would like to have a curly tail mold but sure hard to beat those Kalin jigs in my opinion.
