I was sitting at home on Thursday night, when I got the invitation to go fishing on Saturday. Seems Ranger690 couldn't make it, and JimB and Anchorman were straight-up with me when they told me, "the only reason you are going is because Dayton said 'no". Y'all know me, and that was more'n twice the reason I needed to go fishing, so I said, " COOL!" Thanks, Dayton, the day was beautiful:

We wacked the crappie and slayed the LMB for about 4 or 5 hours, then went home:

No kidding: we caught 1.5 lb LMB non-stop the whole time, and interspersed amongst them were hungry slabs up to 16" long. Before this trip, 13" was my best crappie. Today I busted 14"...then 15.5"...then 15.75"...then 16"...!!!!! Thanks, Dayton! Man, we caught so many fish, I thought my right arm fell off...twice! We threw back tons over 13" and groups that were under 12", but we ended up keeping 37 fish that were between 12" and 13".

We caught 4 fish that made citation by length, with the biggest two at 2lbs 4oz, and 2lbs 1oz. Anchor(the crappie)man, Vic, caught one that was 15.5". It was a world-class fishing experience, and I would like to give credit to my guides/hosts, Anchorman and JimB, but did I mention that I wanted to thank Dayton too?

Today was another great day on the water with Jimb and Dean.

Dean, you had a fantastic day with 3 citations in one day and breaking your personal best a few times. Jim and I were glad you did so well. When Jim takes someone he always wants to see them catch citation size fish. Weather was excellent with just enough wind to keep it cooled down. All fish caught on twister tail jigs both casting and long lining. I have some pictures of Dean's 3 citations.

I'm glad you guys had fun yesterday. Here's some more pics of Dean's citations I took. Dean wasn't kidding about the LMB. We couldn't keep them off our jigs. Had a great time fishing with you guys. Dayton, next time I go I'll let you know.
