Lone Star Lakes South end
Chased the fishies again this morning. Got a lot of bites. Skeeters... gnats.... no-see-ums... one persistent deer fly that won't be biting anyone or anything again. But I digress.
As for fish... a few gills... no crappie. One big unknown something that almost yanked the rod overboard. Towed me around for a few minutes and broke off. I was talking to some guy on the bank and had a micro-spoon just hanging in the water down about 15 ft, and the rod laying across my lap. There was no tap tap tap.... just one hard bam and the drag started whining. I just managed to grab the butt as the reel hit the water. Fun while it lasted though. 6 ft ultralight rod... 4 lb test mono and a tiny silver micro-spoon. What ever it was headed straight for deep water... 30-40 ft deep in the center.
Good thing was the bugs left around 0900.... bad thing was, that's when the wind started to pick up and started pushing me around.
No pics... not sore this time... so far.
