Default Have you youngsters completed your safe boating course??

On July 1, 2014, motorboat operators age 45 or younger who operate boats with motors of 10 horsepower and greater must have completed a boating safety education course and carry such proof in their possession while operating the vessel.

i took the power squadron course in 1997 in Annapolis. I didn't want to take the online exam, but couldn't find my card/ certificate. I called the power squadron's office in Raleigh I believe and after 10-15 mins on the phone, they found some paper record, in the storage boxes in the basement, that I had completed the course. They sent me a copy and I forwarded to DGIF with $10 and 5 days later had boater safety card in the mail. I'm 44, but very much worth the effort tracking it down.

don't affect me yet- im 58- but kinda gets under my skin- 18-20 or never operated a boat ok but I been owning & running boats since my 20's & don't see the need for more government regulation of my life
My wife swears I only do enough surveying to support my hunting & fishing because I'm too busy hunting & fishing !

yea its inevitable but it aint right- if it weren't for the fed there'd be no 4 stroke motors- guess that's progress
