Default Potomac river 16 June 14

My son and I really got on the crappie yesterday on one of the tribs entering the Potomac. Water was murky, anything black and chartreuse was the ticket. All fish caught in 10-12 feet of water. Lots of catfish too....they were actually making it tough to get a lure to the crappie. Blue's and channels in 3-4 lb range on ultralight also take a while to get to the boat. All crappie were 12-13 inches save for a few 11 inchers. Slab fish.

FYI, those yellow perch were huge....most at 12 inches. Found them in a shallow hole while bass fishing.

Nice report and great catch. Man I love to eat them ring perch, more so than the crappie. I'm sure your son had a blast.
