Too much water- jeez its ridicules! I think the fish are as confused as I am- hunted hard to finally find a few both days- Thursday fished beaver lodges, deep & shallow brush piles, shot docks ( for the 1 st time- this'll take a little getting used to) and trolled from 10:30 to 6:00 and aint got a crappie yet - found a couple new deep brush piles on a tip from a friend but no fish- pull over in the shade to wipe off the sweat & drink a beer, thinking bout where to catfish Saturday when I remember a couple years ago when water got way up found some pushed back up in the willows so head out grassy back under hwy 15 bridge to a good patch of willows & start fishing bout 6:30, from 6:30 to 8:00 I catch 10 nice keepers & 5 dinks up in the green willow leaves in 3-5 fow- thought I had a 2lb'r so broke out the scales it was 1Lb 10oz, rest keepers 3/4 lb - 1 lb - day salvaged-![]()
Saturday one of the biggest challenges was getting the boat in the water- memorial day sat. - so many landings closed due to high water- the ramp was a circus! nice meeting you Tahoe 50- that was the only sane moment wating to launch- ( you'd think before they sold people 20-30 thousand dollar boats they make sure they knew a little something about boats!) anyway finally on the water- head back to willows - nothing but dinks- go to shot docks some & catch my first 2 dock shooting crappies! that's some fun stuff gona do it some more but get tired of fighting the crowds so head back in a cove where I know a big brush pile in 10 fow- get a buoy on it and make 2 passes & catch 4 keepers- thinking this could be good- all of a sudden here come a pontoon pulling 2 skiers into the back of the cove & sets it down bout 40 yards away thows out an anchor & start partying & swimming- really!! - nothing to do but gather up my stuff & go searching again- remember some stumps that outa be plum under water now so go there & catch 4 more keepers laying on the stumps- thus ended the day but 10 keepers again - no big fish all bout 3/4 lb- water temp ran 76-82 Thursday and a few degrees cooler on Saturday- Thursday water kinda stained but not bad - Saturday real stained- that red rust look- still want to go catfishing-![]()
My wife swears I only do enough surveying to support my hunting & fishing because I'm too busy hunting & fishing !

Hunter, glad you got some, after today it should settle down a little from the crowds,a nice day and holiday combine do not make a good fishing day, have to try to get away from the crowds,do not like to fish around many boaters

I don't have the temperament to even launch on days like that. I drove over to Dutch Gap yesterday afternoon and just watched for about 1/2 an hour. Wish I'd taken my camera. Ridiculousness at its best! Many of them could have had feature roles on "Jackaxx"!!!
Don't outsmart your common sense!
