Might as well get something done in this crap weather. Now I need weather for some field trials. The paddle tails and twister tails are in Junebug/Chart and Ice Blue/Chart. Been wanting some Junebug baits for a while. Got them stocked up now. Also the Ice Blue has been a hard color for me to get down but i think I got it now. Love that color.CF

Wish it was that simple here PP. I have tried plain white and have tried pearl. Have not had much success on them. To my experience, they want to see some sort of contrast. Bluegrass and pink/white seem to work, one or the other day in and day out. There are days when an outside color works better. This year with the muddier water, pink/black has risen to the top. A color I did not have much confidence in until the crappie told me about it this year. Had a friend tell me out of the blue about that color too. I have fished white with seven other colors spider rigging on several occasions in several different water conditions and it has yet to show me anything much. Neither has Taps money jig. Maybe that color works better further up the Chowan and on some other bodies of water that you have fished and I have not. Don't know. But I have just not had much luck on it. Wish I did. It would make fishing a lot simpler. Spider rigging has taught me a lot about color and has showed me that I need about seven or eight color combos for varying conditions. Most of the time, one of those is going to work really well under about any condition you could think of. I tried to keep it at 6 but the last couple years forced me to add a couple more to the 6 I have now. About half the colors have white in them, the others have some shade of chartreuse with them that was until pink and black. Need to try orange and black too. I use this info when I am casting and fishing brush piles now with one rod to match my color to water color. It has helped A LOT. Wish I could carry all I need to catch crappie in a small paper bag but I can't. And if I am competing and see the guy that does carry his tackle in a small paper bag, that guy scares me to death! CF

Those are some fine looking jigs Ed!!!! Can you make some with a clear twister tail with some blue glitter in the tail.
nice
Mighty fine jigs Ed. I tied up some jigs for Side kicks birthday. First time I used feathers. I kind of liked it better than buck tail. I got me some real tails two years ago and they feel so nice and soft. Last year the water was low and I was throwing red and chart. But they wanted white solid white and small with a silver spinner. Yep a beetle spin, I was on the Northwest river. Maybe side kick will post a pic of them jigs.
