Anyone ever crappie fish under floating lights. Maybe and idea what time of year works best. Will it work when the waters still cold. Only tried it once. Just wondering bout other fishermans experiance.

This was in NC, but I just caught these last weekend under my light. It wasnt hot and heavy like April / May will be, but it was steady. Water temp was upper 40s/low 50s over 25 ft of water.

Talked to some guys that had one of those floating lights- fishing near a bridge at Anna. they showed me the stringer, they had done very well!
I fished with lights with a buddy a bunch 30 years ago @ Lake Norman N.C. - it worked good- been thinking bout giving it a try again @ Buggs this summer- im guessing outa try hwy 58 bridge or hwy 15 bridge - always see people there when I go catfish'n in the summer
went to a pier on the Chickahominy Saturday night. Caught about 15 or 20. most only about 8 or 9 inches. the bait was poppin off everywhere but not too many under my lights. had a clear sky with the full moon. most were caught on jigs in about six to eight feet of water.
I have tried it, with poor results. I was doing it all wrong I am sure. But glad you did get some.

I have heard it works better during a new moon. Darks nights put more bait into the artificial light.
