    Default Buggs Island Dan River?

Anybody been up around Staunton River State Park? Usually some good early season crappie fishn around there but was wondering how the ash spill in the Dan was effecting the water- didn't want to waste my day going there if water was messed up- its an hour away

I've seen no sign off ash in that area. But we got 10 inches of snow last Mon an Thur. the lake above the bridges is very muddy an trashy, besides fallin 10 dgrees in water temp. We fished Buffalo, Bluestone an Sandy, Mon, Tues, an Wed. caught 18, 15 an 10. Marked a lot of fish, but they were not bitin. Give it a couple wks an things usually improve.

I saw the same thing 100 miles northeast at Little Creek Reservoir during the past week. There was no mud or trash, but WT hung stubbornly in low to mid 40s.

yea but all the snow and rain may be a blessing in helping to dilute the ash spill- Dan looked rough a couple of weeks ago right after the spill going through Danville- Buffalo looked little crowded for me when went across hwy 58 bridge Tuesday- probably try around longwood agai
