I fished Nutbush Saturday. Wind wind and more WIND. I marked a ton of bait and had birds workin all over but couldnt get anything to bite. Im gonna give it a try again when it gets a little warmer. WT was in mid 40s and water was in good color condition. That was my first time in Nutbush and wish I could of explored it some more but gettin splashed with frigid water isnt my thing. I launched from Bullocks park? maybe cant remember the name. I think I am gonna try little nutbush next time.

We don't hear much about Nutbush. Wonder why?
-
it is hard to get nutbrush muddy,it has some good spots but nothing like the rest of the lake and not nearly as much brushpiles, byt some of the guys that know that creek well can do good in it

the last pic on my guides listing came from Big Nutbush the 1st day of Dec 2013. every few yrs the conditions get rite an they bunch up then, but thats bout the only time we do good there. Dock shootin has been gettin better each yr lately. I've been hoping that the hydrilla would start holdin some, but not yet. I've seen hydrilla cause a boom in crappie fishin on several different lakes over the yrs, hope it happens here.
-
When did they put hydrilla in Keith? Or better yet where? Buggs has so much deep water it would be a great lake for hydrilla if it can take the water fluctuation.
-
hydrilla is mostly in nutbrush, have seen a little near northbend a few years back, don't know where else its at,maybe keith will tune in with his knowledge
-
was it hydrilla that had the mouth of the Staunton so choked up a couple years ago?
-
Hunter, yes that was hydrilla. Navy, THEY didn't put it in, the fishermen brought it in on their trailers. Gene, Its in Keats rite above the dam an most of the tribs off big an lil Nutbush. in the back of the creeks an the pockets. The COE has sprayed some of it around folks docks.

couple years ago I had a good pattern on the crappies in spring,so I went to one of my good spots where I had caught 19 big crappies on 19 shots, all were big and threw all back, well I went there and fish many docks with nothing and could not figue out why with them hitting on all the other spots like that ,then I notice a sign on one of the docks and it read that they had sprayed a couple days ago, then notice they had sprayed that whole area, should have seen the sign earier but too busy try to figue out why they were not bitting ,the sign that they were not bitting was in front of me ,had sprayed and fish LEFT
