Quick report: Fished upper Diascund Creek, hoping for yellow perch but happy to catch anything. First fish was a beautiful and big yellow perch, then nothing but blue cat's for the next several hours. Ended up with only 3 perch (but 2 were citation size), a couple crappie and a bunch of blue cats. Kept 4 cats for eating. all caught on small and medium minnnows. Big perch was 1lb-8.5 oz. on my scales) A fun afternoon. Just wanted any body interested that the perch are ready to explode. Surface water temp was on 47 by the afternoon, so my guess is if water warms a few more degrees, the perch will be spawning come the full moon on the 16th. Saw lots of eagles and herons.
