Default Saturday-Burnt Mills-Zero crappie, zero fish.

Well, I wasn't expecting to get shut out today but I did. I fished until around 12:30 within sight of the ramp as 1/4" ice was blocking my access to the rest of the lake. By 12:30 it had loosened up enough that I made my way through it. I pulled up to a spot that produced really well two weeks ago, thought I had a bit then nothing. I tried all my winter time spots that weren't frozen over and could not get the crappie to bite. By the time I left around 3:00 most of the ice was gone. I showed surface water temp between 36-39. I guess this means that I will be pre fishing the NWR next Saturday.

I got blanked too at Chick River, below the dam. Nobody was catching. Talked to several boats with similar reports. Water temp was 37.2. I kept picking up very large marks that were moving around. I'm guessing rockfish or large cats. Either way, they didn't want minnows or jigs either. Hope you are feeling ok these days Tap.

It was the same at Jordan yesterday until around 11, they started biting minnows a t the bridge at Ebenezer Not a nibble while papadave and I were slow trolling, but still had a good day, north of Farrington still had ice on when we left at 4:30.

See?--that just proves I can catch as many fish as you, at least once in a while.

Saw you out there as I drove by. My boat was frozen in my cove.
