I've never caught any there. Only seen small catfish and very small bream caught.

They say crappie are in there, but I've never caught any the few times I went.

Legend has it that there are Speks in the canal. The only person I know of caught 1, all be it good sized, the fish was caught in the feeder ditch close to the lock. This was long ago.

This new ramp is part of the new park on 17 in Deep Creek. About 3-4 miles north on the existing ramp. I camped on the Island by the locks last year. It was below freezing and I caught all the yellow perch you could want, only thing was they were all like 5-6 inches but many were busting with roe. I just vertical jigged right off the bank with a small jig. Did not catch anything else and I casted everywhere.. There were about a dozen campers on the island.
