Fishing Pole repair

Does anyone have a source for the kind of eyelets on the end of the telescoping poles that are straight with the pole, in lieu of the fly fishing type which have an angle bend on the end? I need to find a small assortment of eyelets to replace some on the Penn 18' telescoping pole and the Shooting Start poles.....Most of the tackle places only have the fly fishing type.......sources please

They aren't pretty, but in a pinch you can substitute electrical ring terminals for the original tops on fixed-line poles. Pick the smallest size you have on hand (or care to buy) and glue them on with epoxy. Yes, this is crude...but if the tip's already broken once, another part of the rod will probably break before long. This is just a cheap way to stretch the useful life of a cheap rod.

What about whip tie or snell like, on the end with braid and leave a loop to tie your mono too? Seal the whip with "glue" or sealer, and melt the end of the pole just bit and flatten/flare so it could never slip off?

Not sure if it is the same application but I have some 10 ft telescoping "Bream Busters" that had a straight eyelet on the end to run your line through. I replaced mine by matching a bait holder hook of the same size and snipping if off at the bend. Just used the straight shank and hook eye. Reason I used the bait holder type is the shank had a coupld of small barbs that I covered with the wrapping and it helped prevent the eye from pulling out.
