I saw a few boats in Hertford, but have yet to talk to anybody to try to get a report.
I fished Hertford 2 times in the last 2 weeks. It has been improving and what I have caught have all been nice fish.

Last trip I got 11 around the RR bridge and they were about 5 ft down. It should be improving with last weeks cold snap.

    Go get'em, B-

He told me he thought they were fishing Pembroke. That being said, Baseball is over and now I can fish again. Hope to go fish Bennets Creek next weekend. They ought to be pretty thick up there bout now. How deep a water were the fish in and how deep down you catching um? Fishing 5 to 6 feet deep over 10 feet of water. Heard they were catching good in Bennets last week. sounds like a little bit going on everywhere.CF

There won't be many crappie left after this week I'm sure. Most fish now are around the 8 inch mark. You have to hunt hard and use jigs to get bigger ones now. That gang that is there now won't leave until they clean them out. Heard 500 got taken out of Yeopim last week. I'll just go ahead and scratch that place off my list. They wipe it out every year in mid November.CF

Sure is a shame but I guess I can't be greedy and expect then to all be there for me. Think I'm going to concentrate my efforts on the Bertie waterways this fall and winter.

Probably a good play. Pembroke will be like last year. By Thanksgiving it will be wiped out. I used to do well there until the end of January. Not now. Have to go further from home in the winter now. It is forcing me to find new places though and that is a good thing.CF

One thing I will say about the boys from the west of us, they are persistent. They find the fish and hammer em. I know when the white perch were biting pretty good in Hertford, they were fishing 3 or 4 times a week and leaving with coolers full each time. i took off one Thursday to fish and if I hadn't gotten there before daylight I wouldn't have had anywhere to park at the ramp. Two hours later, there were 8 boats withing 50 or 60 yards of me. Me personally, I don't want to clean that many fish. But it is fun catching em.

Yeah and what makes it worse is that the Roanoke and Cashie are still wiped out from Irene. So that is two places they usually fish that are not much good. Puts a lot more pressure over on this side.CF

Drove over the bridge this morning. Looks like Pembroke is getting absolutely hammered today. Too bad I'm working and can't join in on what might be the last warm day for a while.

Yep. I went to Bayside at lunch time and there were 10 boat trailers parked there. They know what they are doing. they will keep on until they catch every last one of them. Me and a buddy of mine had already decided last weekend that we were going someplace else on our next trips because of that crap. They have been hitting it all week.CF
