Here is my question my only boat is a 10 ft pelican boat so I can't take it on South Holston Lake so I'm pretty much stuck to Rural Retreat Lake which is an he drive or Hidden Valley which is a 35 min drive... My question is would it really be worth it to hunt for crappie at Hidden Valley since they only shocked 5 crappie I'm their sample.. The lake is around 60 acres and I fished it once a couple years ago catching a couple crappie around brush but I'm just wondering if its even worth it with such low catch rates... The other lake is full of crappie (rural retreat) or at least they say it is because they trap crappie out of it every spring... I do catch quite a few when I go there but they are all small... What do you all think? I need a bigger boat? Lol
Is it possible that a good portion of the crappie eluded their survey or that it's going to be pretty hard to find them without electronics? The only ones I've caught have been if lay downs but I haven't seen many of them I'm sure there are more under water I can't see...
Only one way to find out, gotta put your time in... I've never fished that area before.
