    Default transducer mounting


    I have an older King depth finder. Trying to decide how to mount the transducer I called the comany. They said it would shoot thru the hull okay and could be mounted inside.
    Has anyone tried this, I didn't because i figured I would mess it up anyway. Didn't want to steal MM's post about messing up his TM mount.

    Welcome aboard. When mounting a transducer to shoot thru the hull they are put in using a special adhesive that will set up with no bubbles in it. Bubbles will mess up your return images. Also they do not work very well in metal boats. They do make a xducer made jst for metal boats but I don't know how well they work.

    I ran shoot through on my first depth finder. It worked ok but I moved it to the trolling motor and got a lot more detail. I mount mine now.CF
