Full pool is 26' or 27'. I rode by there this afternoon and found the lake level off the bottom of the new depth gauge affixed to the end of the dock--probably at about 19.5'.
NN Waterworks is working on two separate problems at DR. The one that could take 2 years involves the spillway--but this project will only cause the lake to be 2' below full pool. The second problem is malfunctioning equipment at the pumphouse. Basically, they have a drain valve that is stuck in the partially "open" position and they can't stop the leak. (If they called Jim.B, this could have been fixed weeks ago! :peacesmile) According to a NNWW staffer, this problem, will be solved much sooner than the spillway and then the level will be able to move up from -7.5' to -2'.
There were no signs and nothing stopping someone from launching this afternoon. Should you launch was a better question than are you allowed to launch. The end of the cement ramp is covered by only a couple of inches of water. Beyond that, there are loose rocks and (I'm told) a fairly steep drop-off. These are the making of lost lights and tags and a complete hang-up with a large rock wedged under your trailer. If you try it, take a helper. A winch could come in handy, too.
