Default Saturday-Slow day at Western Branch

I woke up to a light rain and headed on out to Western Branch. I was only able to manage 28 crappie of which the majority were around 8"-9". I did manage a few decent ones including this one at 1lb 3oz. You can see it was hanging right near a drop off on my fish finder. I picked up two other decent ones here but that was it.

I tried all the spots that produced 62 last weekend but the bite was just off. The dang little white perch would not leave me alone and kept stealing the crappie nibble off of my jig. A guy in the parking lot told me that his buddy caught a 16" white perch there recently. Water temp was 81-85 and the weather was pretty nice for late June. I only got rained on for 20 minutes or so.

It's been real hit and miss. Not solid like in years past.
