Default July 4, Burnt Mills-53 crappie

Of the 53 the vast majority were between 9"-10". I had one that maybe went 11". The 10"ers fought well so no complaints. I only had 3 crappie after around two hours in the main lake so I headed into the stump field and picked up 22 on a submerged tree that has always been good to me. I was catching them 5' deep pretty close to shore. I then picked up 11 more on a newly fallen pine tree, 1 nearby, then 16 up a creek arm on a submerged tree that I found two years or so ago. Vast majority were caught casting and the flavors of the day were Kalin's Money jig, and BGBS in pearl and pink with a few on pearl/pink. All were caught either 5' down or 7' down. Nothing worth taking a picture of. Now to work one day and go fishing again.

Good report. I had family duties today and that is a shame since it is the first really good day for about a week. I'm planning to hit either BM or Meade tomorrow.

Good report George!! I am still trying to see where I plan on fishing tomorrow. I was talking to Dean about b/m but now i'm not sure. We may head back to mead. I need to find where the bigger fish have gone. I lost them with this hotter weather. I guess will see some of you guys on the water some where.

Jim, hope you have better luck than I did today if you head for Meade. I probably caught 40, all small, and not more than 2 or 3 in any one spot. They were really tight to wood in 15 feet or deeper, but they were holding about 5 or 6 feet down.
At least I had a chance to fill in some holes in my map.
