    Default Meade 31 may

Got out on the lake at 730. Took little longer than I wanted as I just realized my Portsmouth permit was expired. All were caught 8' deep around dead trees under water. Water temps were around 82 degrees. Caught about 20, kept 8 to eat. Left at 1100, dog was starting to over heat. It was getting hot out there.

Thought I finally had a citation but it was 15" long and only 1.75lbs. Biggest I've seen yet. The rest I caught were between 9" and 10" that I kept. I'll get that citation someday.

I was told that someone just caught one the other day that was 2.25lbs out of cahoon.

Hopefully I'll get out this weekend just don't like dealing with the crowds.

It was a length citation, congrats. 2lbers can be hard to find as the water temps warm up but they are out there.

Congratulations! You caught it today. A fish qualifies if it meets either of the two measurements: 2 lb or 15". Here's the form (but if you released the fish, you'll have to get your dog to sign as a witness. )

I knew I could have got the citation for length but want to wait till I get both length and weight.

Forgot earlier. Caught them on a homemade horse head with kalin's money grub tipped with a white crappie nibble.

Thanks everyone. First time seeing one that size. When it first came up I thought I had a bass, what an awesome surprise.

I understand. I have caught 12 crappie that were 15" + that did not weigh a pound, heck one of them was a summertime crappie that only weighed 1lb 8oz. I have only caught one 2lb'er that wasn't 15" but it was real close.
