Default Saturday-Burnt Mills-64 small crappie and lots of wind.

Same ole, same ole for me at Burnt Mills. 64 crappie with nothing bigger than 10" and most between 9" and 10". I probably got 80% of them casting Kalin's Money jig. A few early on with chartreuse Wasshoppah's. I went all over the lake with hopes of finding a few larger crappie but it was not to be. Winds gusting to 26 did not help matters. That's back to back fishing trip for me with winds gusting in the mid 20's. I showed water temp from 69-74.

These are tough and frustrating trips. If you're lucky enough to find them, it's almost impossible to stay on a spot long enough to do much (even harder at TMO lakes.) By the end of the day, it feels like you've gone several rounds with the champ.

64 crappie big or small is a lot of fish. Way too go, but way to much wind for me.

I have hit the wind on the last 4 times out and you can't stay on one spot long enough to feel sure what is there. I've caught many little ones, and a few gar. Same ole, same ole is beginning to make me wish I had taken up ping pong or something else out of the wind. I'm about to give up wasting time and gas.

Nice job, Tap. 64 is a lot of fish for that much wind. Thanks for the report.

I was at another lake over there and only managed 8.
