Default Anyone got an Anna report this week?

My little guy says he'll wake up at 3:00am for a birthday trip to Anna, just me and him (he turns 8 on the 4th). The kid's a diehard and wants to "clean out" Anna next Saturday . I hear going way upstream is good this time of year. If anyone has a destination I'd love to know it. Any help would be appreciated.

I think I am about the only one that posts here regularly about Anna. Weather earlier in week kept me from going to Anna. I decided to drag boat to Deltaville. Fish BDR, Diascund, LCR, and Chick for a while.. ( while I do repairs to my mobile home on Rapp river, may even pick up a croaker or 2 after replacement of bilge pump on my SW boat)
Back to lake Anna, I hit some 8-9" crappie, fishing slip bobbers, mid-lake coves, not too long ago. Just look for lay-downs or docks. Most of the people that work at landings will be glad to offer suggestions. BTW, last spring I did better on "upper end" of both Pamunkey and Anna arms.
There are BIG fish there ( seen them at landings), I just have not found them. I hope someone does post, we need some more Anna guys!

Tell me! Every time I say Anna around here everyone's like- Anna, what? How can no one not know anything about that nuclear heated monster lake?? It's 2 hours from me, but worth the drive. I can get on the upper arms in minutes, won't be a problem.

I typically fish the upper Potomac, local lakes, and West Virginia cause WVa is closer to Purcellville.

Thanks for your input. I hope to have something together for this boy by Sat.

Hey thanks! Not sure what we're doing now. My little guy saw a picture of Anna stripers...(oh brother). I'm just gonna pack every rod I have and see what's going on when we get there.

I was out last week and we caught some nice ones on slip bobbers with small minnows under the 522 bridge near christopher run campground.

You fish Anna often? I know of 1 citation caught just above that bridge last time I was there ( I fish close to 522 bridge often when at Anna)

i will try to start posting reports after each trip. I only started crappie Fishing a little over a year ago so the reports may not be full of technical info.
