    Default Lake Anna 4/16/13

what's happening ... Seeing all these low to no fish days posted recently! I had a 3 crappie day! the guides I ran into were also having very slow day, and 3 other boats I stopped to talk too. Some had not even caught a fish all day! The day did start off kinda cool, maybe front moving thru slowed the bite. When I pulled up to ramp to load boat, one guy said, Yeh, I only caught 4... When I looked at the fish, 3 were easily citation fish!!!! all fish I saw were in tux.. Here's a pic of my first fish

Has been a screwed up spring that's for sure. Nice looking fish any way.

Good question. As Gene said, every lake is on a different time schedule. Move around from lake to lake until you find the place that best responds to your fishing style. When the spawn is over, they'll show up on the usual structure in all lakes.

Really had to work hard for all 3 fish I managed to catch yesterday. They were in heavy cover. I had to drop jig down "deep" into beverhut for fish pictured. They would not come out to take bait-- it had to be put in front of their nose! A couple of times I felt a bite, short fight, but I think they hung themselves up and I had to break off line. All fish brought into boat were in different location of lake but all were deep into brush or beverhut. (lost 4+ jigs) My guess it had something to do with front moving thru ( started off cold and I got rained on a little), they were just not aggressive at all!

Sorry your trip was not better. I do think the up and down weather is the problem. I figured this week and next would be great with the spawn coming on the full moon next week. But I guess that is why fishing is such a challenge. Who can ever figure out the weather or the fish! I am 70 and I have got all the answers yet!!!
