Default Saturday, 2 crappie, woo hoo!

I fished two of the Norfolk owned Suffolk lakes that were not named Burnt Mills and all I could manage was 2 crappie. By noon at my first stop I had only found 1 male crappie in water just under 5' deep so I left and went to lake #2 where I picked up a whole one more, also in shallow water but looked to be a female. I found water temp around 65 in the main lakes and 68-72 back in the coves. I covered over 25 miles in my jon boat but it didn't matter, I just could not find them. Both parking lots were packed as it was a nice day to be on the water.

I feel your pain Tap. Got the wife out yesterday first time in well over a year. We went to LCR that's where she wanted to go it is a beautiful lake. We fished from 1pm to around 6pm. The highlight of the day was when she landed her biggest bass today around 4lb. Man was that ever a blast to see her catch. We ended the day with 1 bass 15 pike 1 ringtail 1 shellcracker and 3 crappie 2 mail and 1 female caught in 5 feet of water on blueice jig. Oh well on crappie love or dinner maybe next time. Was just a beautiful day to be on the water with my fishing buddy ONCE AGAIN.

Glad you got to go,it always is strange why one lake turns on and another one is not when it looks like they should be biting every where, but that's why we send you guys first so that others know that if some of the best are not catching fish there than it is no use for others to go,I don,t fish there but thanks for report so others can reroute their fishing trips

The NE wind had them slowed down quite a bit today. I fished a private lake and had 4 bites total but two of them were 15" and 16" slabs.

I also feel you pain George. I fished the other suffolk lake b/m and caught NO crappie. Dean and I in different boats started in the very back and worked the lake towards the ramp. I spent ovr two hours looking on my d.f and found no fish. This time last year they were stacked up in the back. I think I may take up golf again.

I caught 3 pickerel, 2 bream, 1 flyer and 1 crappie. So, not alot to report. The one crappie was at the very back, he was very black and about 2' deep. Otherwise, only a few small taps a couple of times when I tried casting to some fish. They just wouldn't nail it.

Tap, maybe you should get a new hat. I feel your pain as well. Except for a couple of trips this year with 2 great guides on here most have been a bust. Even the lake close to my house. So far this year I've managed to catch 2 crappie from there. Keep thinking things will improve but starting to doubt it now. At least the weather was nice.
