I tried my luck at Western Branch this morning and had none. After 5.5 hours all I managed to catch was one catfish so I headed over to Burnt Mills. Water temp at WB was 43 and the winds were from the NW gusting to 17 making it rough on the water. I worked water from 3' deep to 25' deep and went from the mouth to the end of two different coves with no luck. Same ole same ole at BM. Caught them off the bottom in water around 26' deep. I tried a lot of shallow water but only found pike there. Did well casting Key Lime Pie BGBS as well as Kalin's Money jig. Could only get them vertical jigging a chartreuse/pearl wasshoppah. Water temp was 43-46. All crappie were 9"-10".
My boat crack repair job held up and not a drop of water made it into my boat. And I must say, my bunks that I replaced last weekend look darn good.

Western Branch first, Burnt Mills afterward sorta' reminds me of stopping off to see the fat gal after a non-satisfying date with the cheerleader. Seems you can always get some (fish that is) there.Glad you got your leaking boat fixed. I've been thinking of putting longer bunks on my trailer (mine are 4 feet now). Did you extend yours, or were they that long all the time?

Thanks for posting. I figured with the cold nights the fish would still be deep in BM. Hope that holds tomorrow. The school we found in BM last Sunday did not have big numbers but we did catch several between 10 and 11.5. We fished mid lake. With a little luck crappie tacos Sundy night.

Those do look good. I noticed the other day while working on my boat that mine are looking kinda warped and carpet isn't very healthy either. Nice job!
If you replace the carpet ,first round the end of the 2 boards where the boat first go on it and the carpet will last longer without wear
