Default Finally got a Rod and Reel

Thanks for all the opinions and advice I got from everybody to help me make a decision on the rod and reel choices. I ended up getting a Pfueger Purist combo. My local tackle shop had a couple of them that I could put my hands on. I really like the feel of the rod combo. It is well balanced, split cork handle, lite and pretty stiff for a small diameter rod (IM8 graphite). I know it will be really sensitive. The reel is super smooth but have not spooled on line to give it a try yet. Cant wait to try it out.

I bought this outfit because I really want to add casting to my arsenal this year for crappie. I can use all the tips on where, when, and how on casting for them. Hope some of You Fellas can help this Sodbuster from Carolina out. Again, thanks for all the advice and opinions. I had them all in mind when I was making my mind up on this outfit and I think it has the characteristics that are needed to do the job based on what everyone was recommending and it fit my budget and I think I got a decent deal.CF

Rod is 5 feet 6 inches. Action is lite with line recommended at 2 to 8 pound test. Would have liked 6 feet better but it will be fine I think.CF

5'6 is a good size most 6' are too stiff, the cabelas classics are the best low end priced 6' ul I've ever held. I caught two on sale for $16 each and I swear I'd had payed $50 each.

Hope you get plenty of use out of that new combo, I really like those new pflugers, my president hasn't had a cough or hiccup in the year I've had it
