    Default Prince Bass (Crappie) tourney

I wasn't going to post this since I wasn't actually crappie fishing, but I saw a post earlier about catching crappie during a bass tourney Saturday at Lake Prince. That was me. As noted, I was fishing a bass tournament. However, I caught three crappie on crankbait and 9 on a jerkbait. Of those, five were over 2 lbs. with the biggest at 16.5" and 2.9 lbs. I had one that was right at a pound and the rest were 1.5-1.8 lbs.

All fish were caught suspended over an old laydown in 6-11 FOW. I couldn't catch a bass after 0800 to save my life, so at 1515 I went back to where the crappie were. I had boated six during two different stops at this place earlier in the day so that is why I returned. I managed to catch six more before I had to go in for the weigh in. Water temp was 45 where these were caught.

I've had some great days crappie fishing, but that sure is the best crappie fishing I've ever had during a bass tournament.Name: crappie.jpg

Way to go Kevin. I have always said bass fisherman generally catch the big crappie. When I bass fished alot I caught several on 7" Culprit worms. And thank for the info, I wish I wouldve hit it friday like I had planned.
