Lake Anna 2/27/13
Was supposed to be 62deg today and sunny. Installed new TM last week and needed to try out boat . Seeing some good catches by a few Pro's here, I decided to try my luck at Anna. How hard can it be? ROFL..
Unloaded boat and she fired right up, boat ran great all day! @ 5th cast I landed a 2# bass I am thinking ALLRIGHT! , I made about 50 more cast, and decided to try minnow on slip bobber, rod locker lid slamed down on rod tip and broke 5" off a new rod. Spent 30min with rusty pliers to get it were I could still use it. Then I noticed it was clouding over and winds were getting up, so I ran to my sure fire spot. No fish and only 4" visibility, looked like heavy cream in coffee! WT 42.7. winds were making hissing/bussing noise in my ear, Kinda like noise from empty beer bottle lol! ( heard humming noise all the way home, even stopped truck to make sure It wasn't anything on truck))
I had heard that down lake was much warmer so I ran to lower end of lake, found some WT @47-48 and VERY clear water I could see bait 6-7' down! . Never crappie fished lower part of lake, but tried out a few coves. Found what appear to be some brush piles but nothing on them. Winds were just to rough to make it enjoyable. Several other fishermen must have felt same, cause everyone at landing (except 1 boat) came back at same time.
If anyone fishes Anna , PM me, I would love to get some tips on fishing lower end!
