Default Pickett: visibility and fish size were the same...

6" (and they were the big ones.)

Nothing for the grease, but catching 43 stunted B & W specks and a few stunted greenies was better than sitting home watching another beautiful day slip by. WT was 40 - 43, wind was manageable, and it was lonely.

The main ramp is closed for a long-overdue renovation (Yea!!!),

so I used the Jonesboro Briudge ramp. It's somewhat primitive, but gets the job done.

The guy at the game check station told a friend of mine they had "found" some extra money and spent it on the new ramp. What areas did you fish?

I did. This is one of the only places that jigs work well for me. This particular color combo usually works great--but not yesterday.

Jim- It's almost time for the YP to show up at Walker's, and CR's on my list of places to go, but it's not a favorite destination. The ramp's a PITA, the crappie have worms, and (unless I missed some good reports) last winter CR didn't give up many citations. Pickett's a good facility, is never crowded, and there's a chance of catching a monster. Several winters ago, I hung (and lost) a huge fish on two trips. Redy2Fish had similar experiences. In May 2010 a local angler landed one of those fish and it weighed almost 4 lbs. If any of that class of fish are still in that lake, I don't mind handling a lot of dinks while I'm looking for one!
