Nice perch! Where is b-d?
OK, I'm game. I'll give them a go and see what shakes. Thanks for the input everyone! I just came home from DMV with the title and tag for a new (used)boat. Got a few minor things to do, like learning how to back a trailer, and I'm looking forward to getting at 'em. Planning on hitting the parking lot at the local church this weekend. I'm now the owner of a Gheenoe Classic with a 9.9 Johnson!!!!!!! Going to hang the kayak paddle up for a little bit and try the other side. :biggrin
Good job Corker............. :highfive
Beaverdam Swamp Reservoir is located just outside Gloucester (map). It is part of a very nice county park. The launch ramp and parking are excellent. You can pay a daily launch fee of $6 or get an annual permit for $60. If you have the annual permit, you can also launch from the upper end of the lake here.
Thanks for the comeback cork. I am trying to relate your spot to something down here.
After you get comfortable looking over your shoulder, try backing the trailer using only your mirrors! Occasionally, you'll need to back down a ramp that's so steep (LCR, for example) that your trailer drops out of sight as it starts down the ramp. Unless you're watching the sides of your boat in the mirrors, you could be off in the woods by the time your truck is all the way onto the ramp.
