    Smile Suffolk Lakes question

I am working on boat today, with hopes of fishing Monday or Tuesday with wife if she feels well.

My question RE Suffolk Lakes: What do I need to know about getting access? Are permits required in advance? It appears to me only electric motors or gas below 10 hp are allowed, is this correct? Anything else that somebody would need to know that has never gone before.

Also, if anyone fishes there this weekend. I need you to put an X on the water where you caught the fish. Just make it large, because my eyes are not as good as they used to be.

Oceans East on Northhampton blvd will also sell you permits for the burnt mills, western branch and prince lakes. In case you are near the Vb area. all the lake rules are on the permit. The fish move so an X on a spot may not do ya much. Not a lot of folks fish these lakes in winter. These lakes have trees in them so you need to know a bit prior to running wide open. the front 2 lakes in burnt mills are open but there are a few low water areas where you can run aground. Western Branch I have ran aground every time I have been there so there are a few low water areas there also. Fish points and look for structure go slow this time of year, you got to learn to feel the bite as it will be very light. I am heading to BM tomorrow for a few hours, have an afternoon granddaughter Bday party to go to. Afternoons are best this time of year.
