I guess your talking about dock st. But im going to check out some spots on the james over the next week. Are we able to keep herring this year? I was told no by someone but would be nice if we could. But nice update on the james.

The Wall was full this evening. Saw a few shad and herring caught. The white perch were all over my sabiki rig. If you have a kid who needs to catch some fish, the next 4 weeks are the time. Good luck.
Got checked by the Conservation Police. Nice guy. They always seem to be that way. Our Game Commission does a a pretty good job with my dollars.

The man was undercover the other day. Checking licenses and buckets. But you are correct...the fish are there.
I was on the south shore fishing from the Ann Carrow side But plenty of people on the dock side too.
Herring is still closed. See the paragraph on the right of this page.
Fishing
Sabiki rigs for herring and white perch. Spoons in gold,silver or chartreuse and shad darts for American and Hickory shad. The white perch were spewing milk.
