I have mostly fished the Nottoway rather than the BW . Have you noticed any differences in the Speks from one to the next?

Ive been aching to fish the rivers since the currents slowed down and the water level back down. Hit my first spot was marking the stucture but no fish then 2 3 luckly the fourth spot gave up one dink at about 15 ft down in 28 fow. the next dink was 12 ft down in 16 fow. a cold wind pushed through and i sure wished i had some sleeves on. anyways three more spots and the last one gave up 2 over a lb fat thick ones just shy of 13" white handtied kiptails on 3/32 Not my best but with a surface temp of 68-69 I thought id be catching shallow...thats what i love about crappie theyll keep you guessing...If they were easy to catch theyd be named bream. I was off the water by 10

Papermouth, when i fish the river (blackwater) i normally fish the upper end by burdette and the steel bridge. October after the first frost is usually when they start to bite very well. Ive know there are some nice fish to be caught on the lower end by your place but i just have not fished on that end. Good luck to you. See Ya on the water.
I catch them year round on both rivers... both seem to produce about the same.. but ive had more over a lb at BW. GTN Im gonna send you a PM later.
