Default Afternoon Report: 21 Sep 12 at Meade

Fished from 3:00 to 5:45 pm. Pulled in 14 crappie up to 10 inches, have a dozen bream, and 1, 10" yellow perch. I lost about six more crappie right beside the boat. Six of the crappie that hit the deck were 10", and made the trip home for the hot-oil bath. The rest went back to fight again some day. Three were around 9.5 inches, and the rest were below 9". I was fishing in water 12 - 17 feet deep, and I think the fish were suspending 6 - 8 feet down. I caught a few by pushing pearl BGBS about 5 - 7 ' deep, and caught a bunch by long-lining 1/16 oz, Tennessee Shad and Blue/Silver-glitter, Kalin's, twisty-tail grubs at .7 to .9 mph. The water temperature on the surface was up to 81 degrees.

I forgot my camera, and had to wait until I got home to take this photo:

It was a blast. The fish were really starting to bite at 5:45, but I had to get 'em up, so I wouldn't be late again.

    Good luck fishin',
