No ... Homer IS a "dolt" !! He says "DOH !!" (the verbal expression that is symbolized by this physical action >> )

"Doh" is the shortened form of "duh, oh" .... meaning "oh, duh ... that was stupid (of me)"

OK, I must admit I went to twin lakes state park and on one of the lakes you can back your boat in down a hill on gravel. I did that only my hitch came off the truck and me boat went in and launched itself. I was only one at ramp so nobody saw it but wife. She said I could go to the trailer store and have them professionally install a new boat hitch. Me chains were still on the hitch and thankfully the belly band was still on. I had to go to town and buy a big wrench to reattach the hitch. But I did and went home with on issues.
