Default Saturday-Buggs with Bennett, 45 crappie.

Bennett and I teamed up at Buggs and boy was the bite slow. It took us all day to net 45 crappie and we worked hard for them. We covered over 50 miles and worked numerous brush piles. I landed the biggest which was 14" and weighed 1lb 8oz. Hopefully Bennett will post the pic he took of it. Not so great casting but what few I got were on Cajun Cricket BGBS. My best luck was vertical jigging an orange/chartreuse wasshoppah tipped with a white crappie nibble anywhere from 7'-21' deep over brush. We stuck our heads in Eastland, Powerline, Rudds, Panhandle, Grassy, and Carters. We tried real hard but the bite just seemed to be really off. Nevertheless, Bennett is great company and I scratched my itch to fish Buggs.

Thanks again for the trip George, I had a blast even though the bite was off. We had most luck 12ft or deeper with the vast majority 18-24 inches off the bottom. Thats a tough bite...Not to mention the wind.... Im estimating a loss of 20-22 jigs LOL Ill be tying up some hairjigs soon! Mr GeneC I tryed your white stinger you gave me at the last Bash but lost it on he first cast

Jigs or minnows? If jigs, what color? All details appreciated.
