    Default Cahoon Aug 27, 2012

Went fishing for a half day on Monday. I started the day casting-up some nice fish that were suspended about 6' - 7 ' deep over a ledge, where the water dropped form 12' to 25'.

They were close to a point in the morning, and moved down the adjacent shoreline as the sun came up.

I threw the money jig, and Kalin's Lemon Mering and John Deere colored jigs, on 16 oz heads. They preferred the green jigs 2 to 1 over the money jig:

I caught 26 total, and threw back 12 that were under 10". I kept the rest:

    The biggest was 11+" :

I also caught 1 small green-carp, 2 nice sunfish and this:

That thing was about 24" - 26", and big around as your upper arm. I almost kept it to make another try at filleting those y-bones out. When I caught it, all I could see was big white fillets!

    I let it go.

    Good luck everyone,

Nice Job! Any variation of green is the ticket...my favorite is key lime and bayoo booger, solid bellys for overcast and lots of glitter for the bluebird days.

    1. Dang! Another one that I didn't even think about. I never think about weighing them. Maybe I should start.
