Default Working hard for a few at LCR

LCR was beautiful yesterday, but the specks are playing hard to get.

From this shot, you'd think the place was crowded...

but I only saw one other boat on the lake all day.

Water conditions remain excellent. The lake is at full pool and water clarity is...
well, take a look for yourself--here's a bottle of lake water (headed for
my freezer to become minnow-safe ice).

Here's a sight that's near and dear to freckle-chasers everywhere!

Maybe by the time this thing breaks down and becomes good submerged structure,
today's 4 and 5-inchers will be citations. Meanwhile, they're about all that's biting in number.
Only 7 were cooler-worthy all day. The remaining 24 were the junior size.

With such low numbers, it's hard to characterize anything as a pattern, but the ones
that would bite were in 14' to 18' of water near submerged wood. During the day,
I covered almost 10 miles & found a fish or two here & there, but no concentration.

Sounds like some real tough fishing. Things seem to have been slow for you there all year. You know it holds lots of nice fish but they seem to be hiding from you real good. Maybe things will turn around for you once the weather starts to cool off. Nice pictures.

Since my last 3 trips covered almost all of the lake, they had to be sitting there watching me go by.

Great report, Corker! That water sure does look green in the bottom shot, but I guess it is just the color from the surrounding trees.

Great idea of collecting lake-water for use as minnow-ice later on. I guess that is just another thing, I learned on this site!

Much of this lake has steep soft banks, so this "slide-down" is not unique.
