Been awhile since I been out but I went to Cohoon May 18th, I stayed from 8:00 until 2 (ish) caught a few small bass most around 10 inches, a couple baby crappie (by baby I mean the minnow could have won) ..... maybe 4 bluegill, 0 keepers.

Fished Western Branch from 7:30 to 3:00 (tough lake for me) Seen one crappie 11 3/4 1 citation WP all in all brought home 1/2 doz mixed bag, white & yellow perch crappie.
Caught a few gills had fun :-) (couple photos attached) sorry about the one photo where they're scattered I had them ligned up but they were jumping like crazy so I snapped it.....

That lake does have a lot of white perch. Little buggers use to steal my minnow back in the days before I went jigs only.

Tap I haven't fished WB in a while I was convinced you were the renowned crappie king there (what chance did I have)
Honestly thats the first time I have caught fish that were harvestable.....so it was a small victory for me.

Bennett, I was tight lining over grass trying to stay within 15 fow close to the bottom working various walls I was picking up the perch from the bottom from 8- 25 feet, sorry for the wide range man but the drops are so intense there.
I had floats out the entire time from 3 feet to about 9 feet NOTHING.
so everything came from the tight lines near the bottom.

Also out of 7 rods the first day at the branch I came home with 6 broken rigs I was sick if not for the nice perch I probably would have went to NWR.
I was using jigs tipped with minnows, I had the best luck on black head and white skirt mini tubes, I tried pink with white bellies, glowing green, pearl, red head with white skirts mini, speckel green etc. It was almost like punching in LOL
nevertheless at work today I wished I was fishing LOL go figure

good report mike. the only thing i know about w/b was the cracker fishing. i do remember i used to fish the underwater flats down by the dam for white and yellow pearch. i did try for the specks back then with little success. back then i only fished the shallows till i started talking with other members on catching them deep. for an old fart i am still learning. see ya on the water. tite lines JIM.B

Hey Jim B I haven't been able to get into nice size shell crackers in quite some time (years) , I met a guy at the ramp my second day at WB, he said they were after them but they came back with no keepers he added the few they caught were diseased..... I replyed REALLY???
He said yup they had their tails too close to their head disease
At least we know its cureable..... 2-3 minnows per day for 12 months should do it
