    Default Blackwater Launch Location

Choice A: Barretts Landing, Decent Bream and Crappie fishing, wider stretch of river, Nice double lane ramp/Docks, Porta-crappers. Up river gets narrow good bream fishing , down river opens up joins nottoway at stateline to form chowan, about 12 miles to State line. Few bridges (58-189) for crappie and laydowns usually produce. Big Lily pads and sheer river banks to catch bream.

    Default Choice B: Joyners Bridge

Better crappie fishing, Nice bream in this stretch, Has shallow flats and oxbows, more bends, Deep 20 & 30+ fow in some spots. but narrower stretch of river that is upstream from Barretts Landing By 3-4 miles, not navigatable from barretts though. If a small turnout, this would be the better location

Barretts landing is at the end of main st off old 58 most of you would take 58west, get off before the bypass, going through holland on old 58, about 10 miles to the franklin blackwater bridge, make a left just past the hardees (main)

joyners bridge rd (rt611) is off 258 between windsor and franklin coming from 460 turn on 258 between the bk and dq about 12 miles up just past walters turn right on joyners br rd ramp is about two miles down on the left.

Thanks, PP. Great info/job! Thumbs Up

I'm game for either one, since I've never been to both. I think it will take me about 1.25 hrs to get there.

No problem Idunno, Im glad I could be of some help to someone. Bring crickets or Worms! Plenty of big Bream! Shellcrackers over a LB and a half are not uncommon. My PB is 1lb 10 oz 13inches, caught about this time of year 3 yrs ago in 3FOW VERY close to the ramp
