Caught this on a money jig.
It weighed exactly 1 pound.
I tried trolling road runners for the first time without any luck. One small crappie. So I threw some jigs and the catching wasn't much better. At the rate I caught fish today I need to go 2 more times to get enough for a meal. This was at Burn't Mills. I did get one more much smaller cracker and several small crappie. I will go back with some worms.

Hey Bill, I used to keep a can of baby clams in my bag for when I ran across crackers like that. Open it up, pour the juice in the water, scatter a few for chum, tip a tiny hair jig, green or chaurtruse with a piece of clam. Works better than worms. Just make sure you've got something to open the can, I've got a nice scar in the top of my foot from stabbing at a can with a screwdriver.
Wow, I know that was a fun catch!
Thats a good one right there. I like Boscoe's thinkin... Always Ready!!

Bill ... I've done pretty good on "crackers", using a 1/16oz jighead tipped with a section of nightcrawler (just big enough to cover the #4 hook). Doing a "lift/drop" of around 6-8" off bottom. There's not usually any doubt about whether it's a gill or cracker ... as it seems the crackers grab the bait & swim off, while the gills pick & peck or hammer it.
Boscoe ... thanks for the "clam" tip !! :Hands Clapping Might have to give that a try. Thumbs Up (but I think I'll see if I can find some in a local "Dollar" store)

A little dab of shrimp on a beetle spin works great for white perch too.
