    Default What can I say

I'm sure some of you are tired of hearing about my recent streak of good luck. What can I say. I got on a roll last year around this time and know to enjoy it while it last. I went fishing again this evening from 5:30 to 7:30. Caught around 20 crappie with only 3 or 4 keepers besides big mama. All fish caught on a 1/16 oz blue/chartreuse jig tipped with a crappie nibble in 6 to 9 fow. Some fish have spawned and some are yet to go. Big Mama went 16" and had spawned out. My 2nd 16" crappie in the last week from there. No I don't think it was the same fish, after all this reservoir is 1,700 acres and I really do not know them all by name. All fish were caught close to the dock. Took along some worms and managed to catch 5 or 6 bream and a small catfish. All fish released. Still looking to catch a 17" crappie from there. At this point I believe they are there. Here are a couple of pictures.

It's Chesterfield County's Swift Creek Reservoir--maintained with our county tax dollars but without any public access. It's a sore subject for Chesterfield fishermen who must drive an hour or more to fish elsewhere.

I'm sorry it's a sore subject for you.

I'll keep reporting what I catch.

    Good luck to all.

Roy, I'm not sore with you & we always enjoy nice pix of big fish. Keep those reports coming!

I'm sore with the county government. I've paid Chesterfield taxes and the usage fees for water & sewer for 39 years. That money has paid for maintenance of a beautiful reservoir that I can't even pay to fish. Meanwhile, the reservoirs of other counties and localities are wide open to fishing.
