Default Diascund delivers double digit day

94 crappies for the day (only 5 keepers and nothing large), but at least there was action! The fish have moved off to familiar spots--structure, dropoffs, points, etc. This ends the long dry spell that's kept my trip totals at disappointing levels since January.

The day started on the cool side, but the wind was calm and water conditions were excellent. WT ranged from 61 - 65 at different locations during the day.

The early bite was weak, but ramped up at mid-day. After a couple of hours handling scores of dinks, I headed off looking for a few larger fish. By then, the bite shut down.

Other species added to an already busy day, including bream, catfish, bass, pike, ring perch, and gar.

That looks like a perfect day. Action and 5 keepers sounds great to me. Plus bream etc... Shure beats working on a computer for 9 hours and then going grocery shopping.....

Glad to hear that you got into some fish. Really good numbers, I'm sure bigger fish will come.

Glad you ended that dry spell in a big way (number-wise, that is). Thanks for the report!

Diascund is coming back after a number of lean years. Last year, 9"+ fish were plentiful. This year, those fish will reach keepable size. As Anchorman and Roy reported last week, the lake also has some nice size fish. There will be many more good trip reports coming from Diascund in 2012.
