Roy, did you replace the treble hook with a single hook on the Kastmaster? I guess I will see that set-up Thursday.

Went to my little honey hole for a little fishing from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. 3 guys leaving as I'm walking up. None had a single bite. Not a good sign. Cast for awhile, nothing. Started vertical jigging and managed 7 crappie in about an hour. Moved over to the shallower water dock and caught 3 more. 10 crappie total up to 12". Only 3 of the 10 were keepers. Also caught this nice 24" "pet" pickerel. This has got to be one of the best pickerel lakes in the state. Sorry for the bad picture. You can barley see my hat because it was getting dark.
Also hit the lake for a mid-day trip a couple of days ago. Caught around 40 using my kastmaster spoon. Most fish were tight to the bottom in 10 to 12 fow. Interesting thing is most of these fish had yet to spawn. I think you'll see a major move in the next few days of a new wave of fish move into the shallows to spawn.

Nice going Mr. lucky, you are still at it I see. I will be on the Catawba river in the morning and hope to have some slabs to show you. I don't know though, I don't have the green hat with the big G on it. Talk to you on Tuesday.
Don,
No I've left the treble hook on them. I try to fish them in areas where I know where the hangups are as they do get hung up.
