    Default 2012 Numbers...

For all you guys that keep logs/records of your fishing trips... has anyone caught over 1000 crappie this year so far?

This makes the fourth year that I have been keeping a log. I actually got the idea on crappie.com from Tap and Corker. This year has already been one of the best years that I have logged and I hope that its only going to get better. I set my goal in January to log atleast 52 trips (one per week) and catch over 1000 crappie... Good lord willing I am well on my way to both goals

Sounds like a great goal. 1000 crappie for the year should be reachable as that averages out to less than 20 per trip. I keep track of my trips but have not kept up with the number of fish caught. I also don't count my little shore trips. What were your numbers for last year. I ended up with 37 trips and 17 citations. 10 official (boat) trips so far this year with 9 citations. Of course 6 of those citations have come from my shore trips. Sounds like I need to start counting them to not skew my numbers.

I'm about half way there & that's a pitiful result for 18 trips. The past month has been very poor for me.

March was a slower month for me too... I had REALLY good luck in February. March just out right stunk as far as numbers go but I was still able to get on some quality fish... Things seem to be turning around some for me in April so far... Its only going to get better!!! (I HOPE)

Last year was a slow year for me with work and other "life things" so I only managed 11 trips with only 1 citation with a total of only 296 crappie (worst year I have logged)... This year on the other hand I have been able to hit the lake anytime I have wanted due to some work schedule changes so I have already logged 19 trips and the citations that have been boated include 7 crappie, 1 largemouth, 1 flathead, 1 gar, and 1 chain pickerel... and as far as numbers go I am at 886 crappie already this year so my 1000 goal is in sight

    Blake,
Your not kidding when you said you were off to a great start. Looks like you will hit 1000 crappie soon. Congratulations on the 7 crappie and 5 different species citations.

Congrats on the master angler Award, I also got master angler this year.. Have had a good year myself, Ill go back through my calender and tally my numbers the first of next year. You should be contributing some reports here and there, always nice to read and view pics of other lakes in different regions.

I have 918 crappie in 17 trips. This includes days of 101-142-206-105. Most were around 9" with only 6 at 1lb or more.
