It's been a very mild late fall and early winter and the water temps reflect it. Here's some data from the Suffolk lakes over the past few years.
12-24-2011 53 degrees
12-23-2010 42 degrees
12-24-2009 45 degrees
12-26-2008 48 degrees
12-22-2007 47 degrees
12-26-2006 51 degrees
These temps were taken off the same fish finder. An average of 46.6 this time of year prior to this year. I guess we had a fairly mild late fall early winter in 2006 as well. I'm sure the fish are a bit confused with the warmer water temps. I just found this interesting as I like numbers.
