    Default Lake Anna 12/23/11

Took the new boat to visit the pond, what a beautiful day it was!
I thought I had sloved a fuel issues by running new fuel lines, but with-in a few minutes of runing some trash got in the pick-up from the tankbanghead
( The pump- up ball was sucked in) The boat would idle so I played around with TM and some other things and came home- fixed blockage. I may have to try again tomorrow.
A few guys at the ramp even offered to take me out since my boat wasn't running OK ! Aren't fishermen great! ( I wasn't to get boat running)
    Pic from this morning:

That's a beautiful sight (except for what looks like grass near your boat)!

NO grass on this lake! ( grass beds are of different variety- looks like sawgrass- doesn't go out very deep, and you can cast jig into this grass to fish it! ( good spring time areas) -- they have alot of carp that eat the other stuff ! ( some are HUGE).

What looked like grass is cloud cover

Bulb sucked tight? Does the tank have an anti-siphon valve?

Yep! I played with it for a while got some trash out of it then replaced it with strait thru fitting!
You seem to know a bit, got any knowledge of VRO -- ( disconnecting it) ? I think to disconnect busser - on the VRO- dis-connect yellow wire?
The guy that had it before me disconnected one of the connectors on harness- Which my reading (of only wiring diagram I can find on internet with VRO) - disconnects kill switch ( which isn't working) and maybe some other stuff

Not sure about wires. I had a 1990 150 Johnson. It went bad and I replaced it with a 1998 175 Evinrude. All was great until 2 years ago. My VRO started acting up. Replaced it with new. New one would not pump oil. Neither would the second one. Believe it or not, the third New one, direct from Bombardier (OMC owners) would not pump. I trust my mechanic. I travel 90 miles to have him work on my stuff. The third one I was with him during install. Hooked up clear tubing like snorkle. Filled with oil. Crank motor to observe oil level dropping. Never did. Yes, motor was hooked to mixed seperate tank. Since then, I been mixing my gas manually. A bit of a pain for such a gas hog.

Let me look up a link.

Lots of good info in the sticky threads here. Some of the guys are very opinionated, but lots of good info.

I've learned that a lot of folks are disconnecting the VRO and mixing manually. Even on new engines as soon as the warranty expires. I don't have to worry about this with my 2 stroke Yamaha! Charlie, you'll figure it out and it will be just fine.

I blew out a 275hp , I believe due to VHO. I found some old records- the plug that was disconnect was correct.
I have a 2 stroke Yamaha on my SW boat, I LOVE IT!

I dont trust the VRO either. I have a '94 Johnson V4 and just didnt trust it so I unhooked too. Gassing up 24 gallons at a time sure goes thru a gallon of oil QUICK though.
