Looks like a nice day of fishing. Hope you're having fun making the plastics. I know I am enjoying it. I also started hand-tying a few hair tails to start with and will probably move along in that too. I just bought a do-it mold for pony head jigs and poured 100 each of 1/16 and 1/8 oz. Powder coated them and put on the blades and split rings. Only reason I did that was that I couldn't find a cheap buy on the pony heads. I also wanted to use sicle hooks.

I like the crappie pic but can do without the one of the green carp. Of course, you did abide by the crappie.com by laws by posting at least one pic of a crappie so I can't complain. :cheers I am off and fishing on the 23rd, leaning towards fishing the morning of the 24th, am off and fishing on the 30th and plan to fish the 31st as well so I might have 4 days left. I'll catch a few for you.

Many short strikes are behind hook,pulling tail.Haven't seen much different if the hook sticks them. I know everyone are going for those hooks but in brush they hang more with that wide gap. Everyone disagree with me on using a #6 and # 4 on a grub like a BGBS saying its too little, but someone forgot to tell those 5,000 fish this year, less hanging in brush
Still trying to get as good as yall here........ but nice fish! the bass's coloration is beautiful! and the crappie's pretty too!!

Yep, that's what I made also. Only difference is that I used 50% colorado and 50% indiana blades. Not sure I'm in love with them yet, don't think I can fish them quite as slowly without hanging up. Good thing about the light wire sicle hooks I use is that you can bend the hook most times and get them back from a brush pile.

I have the regular ol teardrop blades too, and im here to tell ya they work.... Using the Chartruse horsehead with the Key Lime BGBS at Burnt Mills this past fall I caught 26 Crappie in 28 Consecutive casts. I usually dont have a problem snaging & losing jigs, but if I do I usually get em back....At BM usually its a stump, and if I can get to the back side of that stump I get my jig back......Now true Brushpiles like at buggs, and thick laydowns is usually a different story. But hey, IF YOUR NOT LOSING JIGS YA AINT CATCHING FISH! So I never mind tying a new one on......Plus I gotta thin the herd so I can keep buying new tackle hahaha If I never bought another thing pertaining to fishing, My tackle would still out live me..... Its getting ridiculous.... Ive got a problem.
