    Default Back from Michigan!

Well I got back early Sun. morning, just know getting around to posting pics. The first week or so I was up there we had 9" or so of ice. By the time I left it was unsafe I'm sure due to the rain. Went fishing 5 or so times while I was up there. Dozen or so keepers each time (mostly gills), lots of little ones to be caught. I bet for every 10 we only kept one. Nothing record breaking but it was fun. Got to fish for crappies one night and brought home 12. Biggest one my Pops caught 11" about 3/4 lb. They only bite real good at night and it's hard to get him to stay up so that's why we only went after them once. Here's good but, I miss it up there.

Way to go man. But you are cheating in that last pic!!!!! Seriously those look comfy. When I was a kid the 2 seater outhouse that was earmarked for a grave got a set of skids and to the lake she went, that was a popular "ready-built" model we thought. Glad ya had a good time.

Without that tent at night it would be a miserable experience. During the day you can turn your back to the wind but, I got to tell you it can get nasty. It looks cold and it is but, If you have never ice fished it's a blast and is like no other way of fishing.

JD I used to live up in Ill. up at the border of Wis. Used to ice fish all the time. Fixed up the back of my truck to tail gate ice fishing. Got stuck one year. Tires froze to the lake had to get pulled out. But allways had a good time. A bunch f us would get out on the lake in our trucks like a western movie of wagons bore a bunch of holes drop our lines and go watch football. And you didn't need a cooler to keep the brew cold.

Driving out on the ice can be scary at times. I have in the past seen cars and other things disapear in the lakes. You just have to respect that ice and it will respect you, If you know what I mean. It's been a few years since I've seen good ice to drive on. I only go up around end of Nov. or Dec. so it's not that thick when I'm there. The brew staying cold is good. with all the other stuff we lug out there it's nice to not have to carry the cooler.
